Petra attracts 370,000
tourists
PETRA (Petra) — More than 370,000 tourists visited the rose-red city of Petra in
2005, with an increase of 25 per cent from the previous year. The daily range of
visitors to the ancient city of Petra is between 1,000 to 2,000 persons. A
number of experts in tourism field attributed the growth of tourism in Petra to
promotional campaigns as well as to the Kingdom's secure and stable political
climate despite of the difficult regional situation.
