Arab parliamentarians
recommend setting up standard system
Parliamentarians from Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Morocco on Sunday recommended
setting up a standard system accredited by Arab parliamentarian blocs. During a
conference on the state media and parliament in the four countries, which
concluded yesterday, participants affirmed the necessity of working to reform
the legislation process by forming a guide based on clear foundations for the
development of internal systems of Arab parliaments. The participants at the
conference, organised by the Arab Centre for the Development of the Rule of Law
and Integrity, also stressed the need to finalise a parliament-monitoring body
at the Arab Centre, a regional Arab NGO, to improve the rule of law and to
expand its activities to include other Arab countries.
