Total capital of
companies registered in 2005 rises 115.5 per cent to JD848.8 million
AMMAN (Petra) — Companies registered in 2005 had a total capital of JD848.8
million, 115.5 per cent higher than the JD394 million total at the end of 2004.
According to official figures released by the companies comptroller at the
Ministry of Industry and Trade, the number of companies registered in 2005 stood
at 7,950 firms compared to 6,712 in 2004. The capital of public shareholding
companies also surged by 231 per cent last year, to JD364 million while the
total capital of private shareholding companies rose by 44.3 per cent to JD149.9
million.
