discuss Palestinian elections
Prime Minister Marouf Bahkit holds talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud
Abbas on Tuesday on the results of last week's elections in Palestine. Bakhit
highlighted Jordan's efforts to establish a just and comprehensive peace in the
region, end Israeli occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state
with Jerusalem as its capital. The prime minister reaffirmed the Kingdom's
support for the Palestinian National Authority and the Palestinian people. He
also stressed that peace is a strategic choice to establish security and
stability in the region. The premier also stressed the importance of
coordination and consultation between the two sides. Foreign Minister Abdul llah
Khatib, Spokesperson of Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeinah and
Palestinian Ambassador to Jordan Atta Kheiri attended the meeting.
