Premier briefs IMF delegation on government's plans and programmes

AMMAN (Petra) — Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit stressed on Wednesday that the Kingdom is pursuing its reform strategy, particularly with regard to the adoption of a clear and sound economic policies on all financial, monetary and investment matters.

Head of the IMF delegation, David Owen, praised the Kingdom's economic performance and the success in facing latest challenges, mainly reduced foreign assistance and the large increase in international oil prices. Owen underlined the Kingdom's positive economic indicators especially in maintaining a growth rate of seven per cent and high foreign reserves and investments. The IMF official also applauded the Kingdom's fiscal policy that helped keep inflation figures under control.
