King Meets Sharon
Sharm Al Sheikh, Feb. 8 (Petra)-- His Majesty King Abdullah II met on Tuesday,
on the sidelines of His Majesty's participation in Sharm Al Sheikh summit, with
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
During the meeting, which was attended by Prime Minister Faisal Fayez, the
King's Advisor for Security Affairs, Director of the Intelligence Department and
President of the State Security Council General Saad Kheir, Minister of the
Royal Court Samir Rifai, Foreign Minister Hani Mulki, the King stressed the
necessity of taking practical steps towards the resumption of negotiations with
a view to achieve a just and comprehensive peace and establish a viable
Palestinian state.
The King also affirmed that committing to the roadmap is the way to end the
Palestinian- Israeli conflict and achieve security and stability in the region.
He also stressed that the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza should be part of the
roadmap and a prelude for a comprehensive withdrawal from all Palestinian
territories.
