IT training program for Iraqis opens

AMMAN (JT) — The opening ceremony of a third country IT training for Iraqis was held on Sunday. The programme is specifically designed for the reconstruction of Iraq, and implemented in cooperation with the Royal Scientific Society (RSS). The purpose of the training programme is to introduce basic computer skills to the Iraqis.

At the end of this programme, the participants will have acquired basic idea of IT. The Japanese government, which implemented the same course last October, pledged in 2003 to extend $1.5 billion as grant aid and $3.5 billion as a loan from 2005 to 2007 for the reconstruction of Iraq. RSS Assistant President for Technical Affairs Khalid Kahaleh and Japanese Ambassador in Amman Koichi Obata attended the opening.
