Kingdom will not allow in any refugees — Habashneh
AMMAN (Petra) –– Interior Minister Samir Habashneh said Monday Jordan would not accept more refugees, stressing that those staying at the Ruweished camp on the border with Iraq are only waiting for problems impeding their travel to be resolved. At a meeting with UN Assistant High Commissioner for Refugees Kamel Morjane, Habashneh said these refugees are either awaiting to go back to their countries of residence or to be resettled in other countries. The Jordanian government, the minister said, is doing its utmost to alleviate these refugees' suffering. Morjane, who reviewed with Habashneh cooperation between Jordan and UNHCR, commended the Kingdom's support for his organisation which he said will continue its efforts to resolve problems facing the Ruweished refugees, who number about 400.
