Commerce in Jordan Organizes Meeting
Amman, Feb. 21 (Petra)—The American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan organized a
working meeting that highlighted Jordanian-US ties and the role of Jordan in
facilitating US trade activities in Iraq.
Vice President for International Affairs at the Chamber, Daniel W. Christman,
said the Jordanian private sector has the ability to play an important role in
providing consultations to U.S. companies willing to work in Iraq.
He said that Jordanian-U.S. ties have developed over the part years, noting the
volume of trade exchange stood at more than two billion dollars. “The value of
Jordan’s exports to the U.S. market stood at $1.4 billion, while imports reach
$650 million,” he added.
President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan, Azzam Shweihat,
stressed the importance of cooperation among Jordanian and US companies with a
view to implementing projects and attracting direct US investments into the
Kingdom.
