Colombia University Discuss Cooperation
Zarqa, Feb. 21 (Petra)—President of the Hashemite University, Omar Shdeifat,
discussed with President of the U.S. Colombia University, Lee Bollinger and an
accompanying delegation, cultural dialogue between the Arab and Islamic world
and the west.
Shdeifat said Jordan was interested in scientific research and development and
was keen to keep pace with developments in the field of telecommunication and
information technology.
He said the Hashemite University was also keen to spread the Amman message
launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II to clarify the true image of Islam.
Shdeifat also discussed with Bollinger scopes of joint cooperation in the fields
of scientific research, the exchange of training and visits among teaching staff
and students.
President of the Colombia University expressed readiness to cooperation with the
Hashemite University. He stressed the important role played by scientific
institutions in improving capabilities of teaching staff through training and
habilitation.
