USAID Sign Agreement
Amman, Feb. 23(Petra)-- The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation
signed on Monday an agreement with the US Agency for International Development (USAID)
whereby the USAID provides a grant of $ 18.5 million to finance a number of
projects and activities with a view to promote the economic opportunities for
the Jordanians.
The agreement, which was signed by Minister of Planning and International
Cooperation Basem Awadallah and the US Ambassador to Jordan Edward Gnehm, aims
at enhancing the Jordanian efforts which aim at developing the living standards
of the Jordanian people through creating a suitable investment climate and
support the Jordanian business sector to achieve sustainable development.
After signing the agreement, Awadallah hailed the distinguished Jordanian- US
ties on light of His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts which aim at supporting the
socio- economic development in the Kingdom.
