JICA, NEPCO to train Iraqis

AMMAN (JT) — The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Jordan and the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) on Thursday signed a record of discussions on the implementation of the third country training programme for “Power Network System” for Iraqis. The programme aims to provide participants from the Iraqi ministry of electricity with an opportunity to update and improve their knowledge and techniques in the electricity sector. Under the deal, the Jordanians will formulate the curriculum and assign lecturers while the Japanese will mobilise experts and bear the majority of the programme's expense.
