Doing Business 2007 Report
AMMAN (Petra) — Jordan has ranked 5th amongst countries of the Middle East and
North Africa in the international report of Doing Business 2007. The
International Financing Programme of the World Bank said in a statement that the
business climate in Jordan has improved due to the reform policy adopted by the
government. Doing Business recently held a seminar on the report with the
purpose of grading priorities of economic reform. Minister of Industry and Trade
Salem Khazaaleh said in an address at the seminar that Jordan takes the report’s
grading seriously, which transparently measures the country’s success in
attracting foreign investment. The report ranked Jordan 78th out of 175
countries around the world.
