Jordan marks World Civil Defense Day
AMMAN (Petra) — Along with other world countries, Jordan on Sunday celebrated World Civil Defence Day, which falls on March 1. Marking the occasion, Director General of the Civil Defence Department (CDD) Major General Mahmoud Abbadi highlighted the CDD's responsibilities towards citizens, stressing the need to cooperate with the concerned authorities. Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers' Council Mohammed Ben Ali Koman also called for the establishment of rescue groups for road accident victims. Members of such groups would be trained to deal with any emergency and provide injured people with the required help. He also stressed the importance of developing civil defence facilities.
