IMF team describes Jordan as model in economic achievements
AMMAN (Petra) — Prime Minister Faisal Fayez reviewed with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) the financial and monetary policies under implementation by the government.
During the meeting on Wednesday, the government's
efforts in the economic reform process and it's achievements in the field of
political and social development were also examined.
Saleh Nsouli, head of the delegation, praised the Kingdom's economic
achievements noting that Jordan sets a model to be followed in this regard.
Nsouli underlined the need to strengthen the financial market and create new
financial and investment tools stressing the need to accelerate the merger of
banks.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Mohammad Abu Hammour and Central
Bank of Jordan Governor Umayya Touqan.
