Key US report on Jordan to
highlight comparative advantages
AMMAN (JT) — Feature directors for an American independent media agency are in
Amman to prepare a special economic report on Jordan exclusively for the
Washington-based The Weekly Standard.
Romy Heldsinger and Mathieu Brisset of US Impact are producing the report.
The report is expected to highlight the comparative advantages of the country,
market access, human and natural resources, investment opportunities and the
continued relational development between the Kingdom and the United States.
The Weekly Standard is a conservative weekly journal delivered to affluent
business and political decision-makers in the US. Its distribution list includes
the White House, Capitol Hill and international organisations such as the IMF
and World Bank.
The New York Times has called The Weekly Standard “the most influential journal
at the White House.”
According to Heldsinger, US Impact's economic reports are used as a lobbying
tool within the US legislative body.
The readers of The Weekly Standard have selected Jordan as a country of great
interest, Brisset told The Jordan Times.
“This is due to the country's political links with the United States and
policy-makers in Washington, recent trade development and increasing business
ties with the US,” he said.
Heldsinger and Brisset have interviewed several Cabinet members and will contact
business leaders in the public and private sectors over the coming weeks.
“Through these interviews, US Impact hopes to get a complete picture of the
economy and expose business and investment opportunities in Jordan to America's
top decision-makers,” said Heldsinger.
