Iraqi educators trained
on civic, citizenship education
AMMAN (JT) — Iraqi teachers are being trained on civic and citizenship education
in a five-day workshop conducted here by Arab Civitas and its partner, the
Jordanian Centre for Civic Education. The workshop, which will conclude on
Sunday, was designed to familiarise Iraqi educators with ways and means to make
their students aware of the foundations of democracy, Arab Civitas.The network —
a member of the US-based Civitas International — is active in 10 Arab countries,
from Morocco to the Gulf, organising workshops, research, conferences and
training, and working to strengthen, coordinate and enable existing
organisations.
