US charge d'affaires visits USAID projects in Salt

US Charge d'Affaires in Amman David Hale visited USAID projects in Salt yesterday, beginning with a tour of the Primary Health Care Centre. The 430sq.m facility provides primary and maternal healthcare to an estimated 36,000 residents of the area.

The centre underwent renovations as part of the USAID-funded Primary Health Care Initiatives (PHCI) project, a five-year cooperative programme between the Ministry of Health and USAID for which the US government has contributed $50 million. Hale also paid a courtesy call to Salt Municipality, where he met with Salt Mayor Maher Abul Samen, Balqaa Governor Sameh Majali, and several deputies from Balqaa Governorate. He concluded his visit with a meeting with representatives of the Salt Reconstruction Committee.
