Prime minister patronises '2nd International Rebuilding Iraq Exhibition'
Amman (JT) — Under the patronage of Prime Minister Faisal Fayez, the 2nd International Rebuilding Iraq Exhibition will take place at the Amman International Motor Show from March 18-22, 2004.More than 160 companies from 24 countries will participate in this event. Participating countries, in addition to Jordan, include US, France, UK, Iran, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Brazil, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Russia, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Turkey, Romania, Germany and Korea,
The companies will represent different sectors covering construction and infrastructure, industrial machines and materials, communications, water technology, power and energy, oil industry, and general trade.
High-profiled trade delegations are also participating in the exhibition enabling participants to network and meet potential partners to further discuss future cooperation.
In addition, participants will benefit from the Rebuilding Iraq Conference which will take place at the Inter.Continental Hotel on March 21 and 22, 2004. They will also get the opportunity to meet and network directly with expert speakers including representatives from CPA/PMO, leading Iraqi businesspeople, prime contractors in Iraq, transitional Iraqi government officials, and Jordanian government officials.
The USA Department of Defence last week awarded seven contracts to provide dedicated support under the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA)/ Programme Management Office (PMO).
These contracts will provide dedicated programme management and coordination support for all design and construction activities being performed for the PMO and within the six sectors of construction.
