King receives ICRC official
AMMAN (Petra) — His Majesty King Abdullah received International Commission of the Red Cross (ICRC) representative in Jordan Guy Mellet at Beit Al Baraka on Tuesday.
At a meeting with Mellet, the King reaffirmed Jordan's support for the activities of the ICRC in Jordan.
Mellet voiced appreciation of Jordan's support for ICRC activities around the world and its endeavours to consolidate and promote the principles of the International Humanitarian Law.
At the meeting, attended by Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai, Mellet presented a briefing on the ICRC's main programmes and activities in the Kingdom during 2003 and its plans for 2004.
