JABA, ILO target small enterprises to 'Expand Your Business' project
AMMAN (JT) — A set of practical training
materials, entitled "Expand Your Business" and developed by the International
Labour Organisation (ILO) will be implemented and administered by the Jordanian
American Business Association (JABA).
Aimed at owners and managers of growth-oriented small enterprises, the project
is an integrated business training and follow-up package planned for next May.
"Growth of businesses leads to creating more employment opportunities," the
regional director of the ILO said during a briefing on the project.
"Considering high competitiveness in the Jordanian market, participants will be
enlightened about growth achievement, crisis management, changes in the
governmental regulations, employee turnover, limitation of financial resources
and the export opportunities in Jordan," explained Adnan Ziadat, one of the
instructors participating in the project.
The project is going to be implemented in several phases, the first being the
educational part. Assessment of growth opportunities for every participating
enterprise will follow.
At a later stage, the instructors will visit the participants to monitor growth,
and will summon them for a last meeting.
Participants should be "growth-oriented" small ventures, typically employing
between six and 100 employees, which can apply for joining and will be assessed
in advance for growth chances.
