Jordan underlines
importance of reviving peace process
Foreign Minister Abdul Illah Khatib underlined on Saturday Jordan’s clear stand
that calling for revitalizing peace process to end the suffering of Palestinian
people and support Palestinian Authority’s efforts by resuming negotiation to
end Israeli occupation and establish Palestinian state on Palestinian national
soil. This would help enhance stability and security in the region.
Khatib’s remarks were made during a meeting in an Egyptian city of Aswan today
with foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and US Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice.
During the meeting, Khatib stressed on centrality of Palestinian issue deemed to
be the core issue of the Middle East. Urging the US and international community
tom exert utmost efforts to reinvigorate the Middle East peace process.
