National agenda steering committee forms eight teams to work on different sectors
AMMAN (Petra) — The national agenda steering
committee decided during its fourth meeting on Saturday to form eight teams to
work on eight sectors that specify aspects of political, economic and social
development in modern Jordan.
The sectors are legislation and justice, political development and
participation, promoting investment, financial services and governmental
financial reform, infrastructure, labour and vocational training, education and
higher education and scientific research, and social welfare.
The teams will embark on setting priorities of the Kingdom's different sectors,
and coordinate studies and research to form a complete picture of the current
situation and the challenges facing the Kingdom in these fields.
The teams will also study the ministries' existing strategies to ensure that
national priorities are in harmony with each other.
Acting Prime Minister and Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs and
Government Performance Marwan Muasher, who presided over the meeting, said the
recommendations and initiatives to be issued by the steering committee would
form the strategies that would be adopted by all ministries and successive
governments.
The steering committee, formed by a Royal Decree on Feb. 9, comprises
representatives from the government, Parliament, civil society institutions, the
private sector, the media and political parties.
