Bakhit holds talks on
prisoners
AMMAN, March 29 (Petra) - Jordan's Ambassador to Israel Marouf Bakhit on Monday
held “lengthy” talks with Israeli officials on the issue of citizens held in the
Jewish state prisons. During his “positive” talks with Dov Weisglass, Israeli
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's aide, and Aharon Abramovitz, justice ministry
director general, Bakhit stressed that the Jordanian prisoners should be
released as soon as possible. “We are holding daily meetings with Israeli
officials on the issue, in line with His Majesty King Abdullah's directives and
government instructions,” he said.
