PAC reviews preparations for ACC
AMMAN (JT) — The Performing Arts Centre (PAC)
held a meeting on Thursday for cultural consultants of embassies taking part at
the Arab Children's Congress (ACC) to be held between July 19-25.
This year, the 24th Arab Children's Congress, — organised by the Noor Al Hussein
Foundation's PAC — adopts the theme “My heritage is my identity.”
The event will bring together children from various Arab countries to
participate in diverse activities including workshops in drama, dance, painting
and crafts.
During the meeting, PAC President Lina Tal reviewed preparations and decisions
made concerning the activities, guests as well as the basic aspects of the
congress' theme with the participants.
PAC asked the participating delegations to bring children's books and media
materials from their countries as well as traditional costumes to be worn during
the activity's opening and closing ceremonies.
The annual Arab Children's Congress was formed following the 1980 Arab summit
held in Amman, in response to Her Majesty Queen Noor's call to support children
and protect their rights based on the 1959 UN International Declaration of
Children's Rights.
The opening ceremony is slated for July 20 at the Roman Amphitheatre.
Participating delegations and guests of honour will attend the opening.
