Hindawi Opens 2nd
International Fair on Reconstructing Iraq
Amman, April 4 (Petra)-- Deputizing Prime Minister Faisal Fayez, Minister of
Industry and Trade Dr. Ahmad Hindawi on Monday opened the 2nd International Fair
2005 on Reconstructing Iraq, in the participation of 980 local, Arab and foreign
enterprises from 44 countries.
During the opening ceremony, Hindawi stressed the strong relations between
Jordan and Iraq in all fields, pointing at hosting such a fair in Jordan for the
reconstruction of Iraq is a an evidence of the distinguished ties between the
two countries.
He declared that Iraq is a main economic partner, adding that the Jordanian
private sector has competitive abilities to make a remarkable role in the
process of reconstructing Iraq.
"The reconstruction process is a comprehensive plan that requires uniting of
efforts of all countries by their governments and private sectors to support the
Iraqi institutions in rebuilding the Iraqi infrastructure, particularly in the
areas of education, health care and food security," Hindawi stated.
On the sideline of the 4-day Fair, a conference will be held in the
participation of Iraqi officials and International experts to discuss issues on
projects of telecommunications, electricity, water, and banking sector.
The conference is considered a great opportunity for businesspersons and
craftsmen to communicate and sign agreements to look into the demands of the
Iraqi market.
