Exports from Zarqa Governorate increase
ZARQA (Petra) — Zarqa's exports rose during the first quarter of this year to JD26.5 million compared to JD24 million during the same period last year. Exports from the Dhuleil Industrial Zone in the Zarqa Governorate also rose to JD13.5 million compared to JD1 million during the same period last year. Despite the rise, Zarqa Chamber of Industry Chairman Mohammad Tal said manufacturing companies remain under harsh economic conditions as a result of the drop in exports to Iraq. He called for more efforts to open the Iraqi markets for local products.
