Science and Technology Agreement Signed with the United States

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Suhair Al-Ali and the US Ambassador to Jordan Mr. David Hale signed today the Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement with the United States, which aims at strengthening bilateral scientific and technological cooperation in areas of mutual benefit.

Minister Al-Ali noted that Jordan looks at this Agreement as an important tool in supporting Jordan’s development plans, as it enables universities, research centers, private sector companies, and other entities in Jordan to benefit from the experience and knowledge of their US counterparts, highlighting Jordan's appreciation for the US continued support to Jordan.

Al-Ali also highlighted that a sound scientific and technological base, from which wealth-creating technological innovations and applications can develop, is essential to economic growth in a competitive international environment.

The Minister underlined that signing this agreement represents a solid example of utilizing international partnerships for technology and knowledge transfer in order to upgrade services and apply international healthcare best practices.

The US ambassador to Jordan, Mr. David Hale, reiterated US commitment to supporting Jordan to achieve sustainable economic growth and development, highlighting that this agreement is another example of the growing bilateral relations between Jordan and the United States.

In addition to Jordan, the United States has signed 30 similar agreements with different countries including: Egypt, Morocco, and China.
