Jordan stresses necessity to convene Arab summit soon
CAIRO, April 12 (Petra) - Jordan has affirmed its
support to convene the postponed Arab Summit as soon as possible, Jordan's
Ambassador to Cairo Hani Mulqi said on Sunday.
Jordan also stressed the need for the summit to come up with positive
resolutions that meet Arab peoples' aspirations and demands, said Mulki, who led
Jordan's delegation to the Arab League permanent members consultative meeting
yesterday.
He reiterated Jordan's position in supporting a collective Arab effort that
could help Iraq get back to the Arab fold. “We also affirmed the Arab league's
role in cooperation with the United Nations in transferring power back to the
Iraqis to enable them to run their own affairs.”
