Government welcomes
appointment - Qasrawi
AMMAN, April 15 (Petra) - Foreign Minister Farouq Qasrawi on Thursday said the
government welcomes the appointment of outgoing World Bank President James
Wolfensohn as special representative of the Middle East Quartet.
Qasrawi said Wolfensohn is an international figure well-known for his
capabilities, skills and contributions to help developing nations execute their
economic programs. The envoy is also reputed for his moderate and balanced
views, the minister said.
"Such qualities will help Wolfensohn revive and activate the Palestinian
economy. The government wishes all luck for Wolfensohn," Qasrawi added.
