7 Jordanian prisoners
released by Israel to return today
Jordanian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Rajab Sukayri on Wednesday said seven
citizens recently released from Israeli jails are to arrive today in the
Kingdom.
Sukayri told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the seven men are expected to
arrive at 9:30am today through King Hussein Bridge.
Israel released nine Jordanian prisoners after an unanimous Cabinet vote on
Sunday, but two of them decided to remain in the Palestinian territories with
their families.
There are reportedly more than 20 Jordanian detainees in Israeli jails, though
the exact number has not been officially confirmed.
Sukayri said the government was committed to bringing all prisoners home.
