Industrial Estate rise 11 per cent in first quarter of this year
DEIR ABI SAEED (Petra) — Exports of Irbid's Al Hassan Industrial Estate rose
during the January-March period of this year by 11 per cent compared to that of
the same period last year, according to the estate's director, Mohsen Kloub. The
estate's investment volume reached around JD225 million, Kloub indicated. The
estate, home for 81 factories, provides 18,000 job opportunities, with foreign
labourers accounting for 29 per cent of the estate's overall workforce. Exports
from Al Hassan Industrial Estate, established in 1991 and designated in 1998 as
the first Qualified Industrial Zone in the world, enter the US market on
duty-free and quota-free basis.
