Shipment of relief aid
dispatched to Palestinian territories
The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) dispatched a convoy of 27
trucks laden with relief aid to the Palestinian territories on Saturday.
According to President of Jordan Representation Office in Gaza Yahya Qarallah,
17 trucks carrying medicines and medical equipment are scheduled to deliver the
aid to the Shifa Hospital in Gaza today. The remainder of the assistance aboard
the other 10 trucks will go to the West Bank, he said. His Majesty King Abdullah
on Thursday gave instructions for urgent relief aid to be dispatched to the
Shifa Hospital. The JHCO sent 25 trucks laden with food assistance to the
Palestinian territories earlier this month. In March, the organisation
dispatched a 27-truck convoy loaded with essential food supplies to the
Palestinians to help them survive a severe shortage of essential commodities
caused by Israel's frequent closures of crossing points.
