NCHR official to attend Tunisia seminar

AMMAN (Petra) — Jordan will participate in a regional seminar on human rights education in Arab countries in Tunisia on Tuesday. Participants will discuss aspects related to the UN Decade for Human Rights Education (1995-2004). Mohammad Nasser, director of the advocacy and information unit at the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR), will take part in the seminar, which will evaluate Arab countries' experience in spreading awareness on the issue before handing it the UN Human Rights Committee. Meanwhile, the Danish external consultant and legal expert at the royal Danish ministry of foreign affairs, Deirdre Connolly, visited the NCHR yesterday and met with various officials. NCHR Executive Director Saleh Zu'bi briefed Connolly on NCHR objectives and achievements. The Danish official said 15-year cooperation projects would soon be implemented in the region.
