Chicago mayor on e-learning achievements
AMMAN (Petra) — Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and
Scientific Research Khalid Touqan on Tuesday briefed Chicago Mayor Richard Daley
on the advances made by the country’s educational sector. Touqan highlighted the
use of computers and the Internet to enhance the learning process. According to
Touqan, government schools have been supplied with 80,000 computers and over
2,500 schools have been connected under the e-learning umbrella. On the
sidelines of the meeting, three Jordanian schools signed twinning agreements
with their counterparts in Chicago to enhance educational and cultural exchange.
