'Jordanian seriously
injured in criminal attack in Yanbu'
By Khalid Dalal
AMMAN, May 4 - A citizen was wounded during
Saturday's deadly attack targeting Western workers in the Saudi port city of
Yanbu, a senior government official said on Monday.
Minister of State and Government Spokesperson Asma Khader, who reiterated
Jordan's condemnation of the “criminal” attack, said 23-year-old Ismail Khalil
Nawaisheh, who was employed at a mobile phone shop in Yanbu, was shot several
times in the incident.
During her weekly press briefing, Khader said Nawaisheh was admitted to a
hospital in Medina. She said he is in critical condition in the intensive care
unit, adding that the Jordanian embassy in Riyadh is following up on his
condition.
