King, US president to hold
talks on roadmap, Iraq
AMMAN (Petra) — His Majesty King Abdullah will hold talks today with US
President George W. Bush at the White House on ways to relaunch the peace
process and implement the roadmap to Middle East peace, in addition to the
future of Iraq.
The talks will also include bilateral relations and the reforms the Kingdom is
carrying out in the various fields.
The King, who left on Wednesday for a two-day visit to the US, is also scheduled
to meet National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State Colin
Powell and other senior administration officials. The delegation accompanying
the King comprises Prime Minister Faisal Fayez, King's Adviser on Security
Issues, Director of the General Intelligence Department and President of the
National Security Council General Saad Kheir, Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai,
King's Adviser Akel Biltaji, Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher, Minister of
Information and Communications Technology Fawaz Zu'bi and Minister of Planning
and International Cooperation Bassem Awadallah.
HRH Prince Ali Ben Nayef, King's private secretary, was sworn in as Regent.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammad Halaiqa was
sworn in as acting prime minister.
