Exports from Qualified Industrial Zones rise
IRBID/KARAK (Petra) — Exports from Al Hassan Industrial Estate, the first Qualified Industrial Zone (QIZ), rose by 20 per cent during April, reaching $24 million compared to $20 million during the same month last year. Exports from garments' factories ranked first at $22 million accounting for 91 per cent of the total exports volume. Engineering industries sold $1.3 million or five per cent of the total. Other exports' revenues came from plastic and agricultural products, veterinary medicines, bags, stone and marble in addition to other supplies. During the first quarter of the year, exports from Al Hussein Ben Abdullah II Industrial Estate in the Karak Governorate stood at JD30 million. Factories in the Karak QIZ provides over 4,000 job opportunities.
