King Urges Plans to Develop
Badia
AMMAN (Petra) — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday asked representatives of
the three badia regions to form committees to study their needs and challenges,
and suggest suitable solutions.
During a meeting at the Royal Badia Forces' headquarters here, King Abdullah
said the three panels representing the northern, central and southern badia
should come up with ideas and plans to contribute to alleviating poverty and
unemployment in the areas.
The King added that his Adviser on Tribal Affairs Sharif Fawaz Zaben Abdullah
and the Royal Badia Forces will coordinate regular meetings of the panels.
The government will support any productive project to develop the badia and
create jobs in the regions, the Monarch said.
He urged the badia's youth to contribute to developing their local communities
and effectively participate in reform.
“Educated badia youth should spread awareness among peers in their areas on the
importance of joining vocational training programmes to acquire skills that
enable them to find jobs,” King Abdullah said at the meeting, attended by Royal
Court Chief Faisal Fayez and Sharif Fawaz.
Representatives of the three badia areas, meanwhile, spoke about their needs and
challenges facing their communities.
