Conference to showcase latest
e-business technology
AMMAN (JT) — The Princess Sumaya University for Technology is to hold its first
international conference on e-business and e-learning this month.
The conference, to be held from May 23-24, will showcase the latest applicable
technology while investigating possibilities for its use in the Kingdom's
business and education sectors.
According to Arafat Awajan, dean of Al Hussein Faculty of Information Technology
at the university, the conference “aims to activate scientific research in
Jordan in the fields of information technology applications, specifically where
modern technology is used to support and advance business and education.”
The conference will be held in cooperation with MEDFORIST, a project of the
EUMEDIS initiative of the European Union that seeks to build a network of
universities and scholars for the exchange of knowledge, expertise and
university programmes, as well as training in the fields of information
technology and e-economy.
Alongside academic meetings, training workshops on e-learning and e-client
servicing, panel discussions on scientific research and an exhibit for Jordanian
software companies will be held.
Scientific research and working papers of more than 40 university professors and
researchers from MEDFORIST countries will be presented at the conference.
MEDFORIST is an international network connecting 16 European and Mediterranean
universities including Princess Sumaya University for Technology. Scholars from
Canada, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Pakistan, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Malaysia
will join representatives from the MEDFORIST countries (Jordan, France, Britain,
Greece, Finland, Morocco, Turkey, Syria, Malta, Egypt, Cyprus, Tunisia, Algeria,
Lebanon and Palestine).
