Jordan's Exports Increase by 40.5 Per cent
Amman May 19 (Petra) -- Jordan's exports through the World Trade Organization agreement increased by 40.5 percent during the first quarter of 2004 to reach JD 289.6 million, compared to JD 206.1 million in the same period of last year, according to the monthly bulletin of ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to the bulletin, exports of the qualified industrial zones increased by 62.3 per cent to reach JD 87.3 million, compared to JD 53.8 million.
Imports of the Kingdom increased by 31.5 percent to reach JD868.3 million compared to JD 660 million. Jordan imports under the FTA with the US increased by 58.4 per cent to reach JD 87.3 million, compared to JD 55 million for the same period last year.
