Prime Minister Meets IMF Delegation
Amman, May 20 (Petra)-- Prime Minister Faisal Al Fayez received on Thursday a delegation from the International Monetary Fund, headed by Ehsan Mansour and with the presence of Minister of Finance Dr. Mohammed Abu Hammour and Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan Dr. Umayyah Touqan.
Talks during the meeting, covered the development in the Jordanian economy in all fields and future cooperation with the fund especially after the economic reform that Jordan implements in cooperation with the fund will end next July.
Mansour praised the accomplishments that the Jordanian economy achieved and said that the economic features point at the great improvement, stressing that if the Jordanian economy moved on forward, it would be the best in the region with no doubt. The IMF official expressed hope to continue the success in the financial policy and the economic incomes to create a dynamic economy in Jordan.
He affirmed that in spite of the end of the program between Jordan and the Fund, "we will continue the negotiation policy with the government even after the program, and will keep the strong relations we ever have".
