Jordan Celebrates Independence Day
Amman, May 24 (Petra) -- The Jordanian family
members celebrate tomorrow, Tuesday, 25th of May, the 58th anniversary of the
Independence Day of the Hashmite Kingdom of Jordan. His late Majesty King
Abdullah Ibn Al Hussein, the founder, launched a strenuous struggle, with the
Jordanian cavaliers to steadfastly imprint this remarkable day in the history of
the nation.
While Jordanians celebrate this dear and close national occasion to their
hearts, they remind themselves of the struggle of the earlier generation for
long years, under their Hashmite leadership, to establish independence, build
the state and affirm freedom for the country and the people.
Jordan was and will remain, as its wise Hashmite leadership wanted it to be, an
Arab and Islamic stronghold and patron of sincere peace efforts. Under His Late
Majesty King Talal Bin Abdullah and His Late Majesty King Hussein Bin Talal, God
rest their souls in peace, and up to the accession of His Majesty King Abdullah
II to uphold the Hashmite banner, Jordan has never ceased to achieve
numerous achievements on different political, economic, social, cultural and
service fronts.
Today, Jordanians perceive their future under the leadership of His Majesty King
Abdullah II, as prosperous and luminous. They identify with their country's
honorable history, and its great achievements of present, and look towards a
future that promotes justice, democracy, prosperity and stability, one that
cements equal opportunities, and security is endowed with, in spite of hardships
it experiences.
