Badran holds talks with Miqati,
delivers King's message to Lahoud
AMMAN (Petra) — Prime Minister Adnan Badran on Monday returned from a one-day
visit to Lebanon, where he held talks with his counterpart Najib Miqati and
President Emile Lahoud.
Badran, who delivered a message from His Majesty King Abdullah to Lahoud, agreed
with Miqati to allow citizens of both countries to obtain free-of-charge visas
on the border. Valid for three months, the visas are extendable to one year.
Badran and Miqati reached the agreement at a joint higher committee meeting,
where the two sides also signed several cooperation agreements.
They told reporters after talks that they saw eye-to-eye on the Palestinian and
Iraqi situations as well as the Arab Peace Initiative.
Badran, who also met with Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri, was accompanied by
Minister of Agriculture Yousef Shreiqi, Interior Minister Awni Yarvas, Foreign
Minister Farouq Qasrawi, Minister of Industry and Trade Sharif Zu'bi, and
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Suhair Al-Ali.
