'Korean companies are looking positively to invest in Jordan'
Amman (AP) South Korean executives opened talks Sunday with Jordanian businessmen on joint ventures and long-term business relations, the Korean embassy said in a statement.
It said the businessmen represent 13 Korean industrial firms that produce and export auto parts, pumps, kitchenware, rubber and other products. The group is on a tour that also includes Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Korean companies are looking positively to invest in Jordan,'' the statement said. It praised Jordan's investment climate and location at the crossroads of the Middle East, the Gulf region and North Africa.
Two-way trade between South Korea and Jordan reached $163 million in 1998. Jordan exported around $20 million worth of potassium and phosphate to South Korea and imported $143 million in cars, automobile parts, electronic appliances and textile.
