King hopes Allawi's designation would help Iraq
AMMAN (JT) — His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday hoped that the designation of Iyad Allawi to head the new Iraqi government would help liberate the country and rebuild its institutions.In a cable to Allawi, King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's support to help end the occupation and preserve the territorial integrity of Iraq, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Meanwhile, an official source said yesterday that the King will head today to Kuwait for talks with Emir Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah on Iraq, Palestine and bilateral ties.
The source added that bilateral talks will focus on economic cooperation, noting that the Monarch will be accompanied with a delegation of officials and corporate executives.
The delegates will present to their Kuwaiti counterparts investment opportunities available in Jordan.
