Italian trade delegation begins visit Saturday

AMMAN (J.T.) — An Italian trade delegation from Brescia Export Consortium will be visiting Jordan on June 5 and 6.

The visit is organised by the Italian Trade Commission based in Amman.

The Italian Trade Commissioner Ferdinando Fiore said the delegation consists of six businessmen representing five Italian firms, producers of submersible electric pumps, siphon, flexible hoses, handwashers, showerarms, wastes, traps, faucets, mixers and machines for metalforming.

Bilateral meetings with Jordanian counterparts will take place during the two days at Le Meridien Hotel.

Fiore mentioned that a training workshop on Total Quality for Export and Strategic Export Marketing Planning will take place in Amman on June 20, 21 and 22 in cooperation with the Jordan Export Development & Commercial Centres Corporation (JEDCO), with an extension to Ramallah on June 23, in cooperation with PALTRADE.

Jordan's exports to Italy in 1998 were worth JD13.6 million, while Italy's exports to the Kingdom amounted that year to JD133.7 million, confirming Italy as one among the most important trade partners towards Jordan.
