Jordan along with Five Arab Countries to Set Up a Plan to Activate Peace Initiative

Cairo, June 6(Petra)-- The Arab Peace Initiative's Committee held a meeting at the headquarters of the Arab League Secretariat General on the level of the permanent representatives during which it discussed ways to activate the Arab peace initiative that was approved in Beirut summit and assured in Tunis summit.

Jordan's ambassador, Hani Mulqi, said that during the meeting participants discussed mechanisms to implement the Tunis Summit's resolution on activating the Arab peace initiative in the light of the Jordanian and Palestinian proposals.

''A committee comprises Jordan, Palestine, Tunis, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Syria was formed to draw up the draft plan,'' Mulqi said.

Mulqi told Jordan News Agency that the plan stipulates for political, diplomatic and media move on the regional and international levels with a view to settle the Arab- Israeli conflict and restore peace and stability to the Middle East. It is noted that the initiative's committee comprises Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Qatar, Yemen, and the Arab League Secretary General.
