Bakhit meets members of regional council of MENA American Chambers of Commerce

AMMAN (Petra) — Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit on Thursday met with members of the regional council of the MENA American Chambers of Commerce who are participating in the Fourth American Jordanian Expo AJEX 2006. During the meeting, Bakhit stressed the importance of expanding the base of participants in the American chambers’ regional council. He also emphasised that Arab American chambers of commerce should focus on conveying knowledge to the region’s economies and work to diversify exports as well as increase the volume of commercial exchange and investments among the MENA countries. Upon an initiative by the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan, representatives of the American Chambers of Commerce in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria have signed a protocol to establish the MENA AmCham regional council in order to boost cooperation among them.
