King Departs for Cairo
His Majesty King Abdullah II headed for Cairo on a several-hour visit to Egypt during which he will
hold talks with Egyptian President Mohammad Husni Mubarak.
Talks are expected to focus on the latest developments in the Middle East as well as relations between the two countries.
Discussions will also cover the situation in the Palestinian lands and efforts exerted to reinvigorate the peace process in
line with the Arab peace initiative.
His Majesty was accompanied by Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, Director of the King’s Office Bassem Awadallah, Foreign
Minister Abdul Ilah Al Khatib and Director of the Intelligence Department Major General Mohammad Thahabi.
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as regent in the presence of cabinet ministers.
